You want to have a tight beard? 3 basic rules to get a tight beard!

Aktualisiert: 10. Okt 2020

There is probably no better confirmation of your masculinity than the possibility to grow a thick, full beard. There is something uniquely powerful about this - you feel like you could wrestle a bear, catch a fish with your bare hands, or engage in other masculine activities. But growing a beard is more than just throwing away your razor - it takes time, dedication and the superhuman ability to resist itching. Here are a few useful hints to help you create a dense, shiny beard that would give Gandalf all the glory of horror.

Method 1 Hairdo and care for your beard

1. resist the urge to cut your beard too quickly.

Do not cut your beard with scissors or trimmers until it has grown at least four weeks. Individual hairs grow at different speeds, so some areas of your beard may be longer than others. Be patient and wait until it has grown really long enough to be able to style and trim it. The longer the beard, the easier it will be.

2. choose a beard style.

If you have given nature 4-6 weeks time to be reflected in your beard, you can think about what kind of beard you would like to style. You can also leave it as it is - wild, rugged and unmistakably masculine. Or you can choose something a little more elaborate, like the popular chin and upper lip beard combination, a trimmed full beard or a lower lip beard. Then there is also the less common whiskers or the boat ruff. The possibilities are endless and the choice is all yours.

3.Trim your beard.

Once you've decided on a style, you can devote yourself to the graceful skill of beard trimming. If this is your first time, it might be advisable to go to a barber and get it professionally groomed, although nowadays it is increasingly difficult to find a hairdresser who is experienced in beard trimming.

  • If you're trimming your beard yourself, use a good trimmer to give contour to your neckline before giving shape to the rest of your beard. In most cases it is advisable to leave the cheek contour natural to avoid a strangely shaped beard.

4.Shampoo and rinse your beard 2-3 times a week.

Your beard will need regular love and attention to stay in top condition. Try to wash it 2-3 times a week with a Beard Shampoo and remove all crumbs and food remains (yes, unfortunately this happens).

5.Use protective beard oil.

If you expose your hard surface to harsh conditions or chemicals - such as when you ski or swim in chlorinated water - you should apply a thin layer of oil, such as jojoba oil, which will help you retain moisture in your beard and protect it from drying out. Take a look here

6.If all this is of no use, wait a few years.

If your beard does not grow as desired and you give up, do not lose your hopes. Just try it again in a few years, as facial hair develops over time. This is why you will usually see the thickest beards on older men.

Method 2 Maximize beard growth

1.Eat healthy.

If you take care of your body by eating a healthy diet, it can positively influence your beard growth. Because hair is mostly protein, your beard will benefit from protein-rich foods such as oily fish, lean meat and chicken. You should also make sure you consume enough healthy, saturated fatty acids, such as those found in nuts, fish and eggs. This will boost your testosterone production, which is essential for a healthy, dense beard.

  • Green leafy vegetables, such as spinach and cabbage, are also a good addition to your diet as they help you convert estrogen (the female hormone) and increase your Level 0 testosterone levels.

  • You should avoid sugary junk food as it has little nutritional value and can contribute to weak, brittle hair.

2.Take vitamin supplements.

Such vitamin supplements can improve the health of your hair and thus stimulate its growth. Probably the best vitamin supplement for hair growth is biotin, a food supplement that you can find in any drugstore. For best results, dermatologists recommend daily intake of 2.5mg of biotin.

  • Other vitamin supplements that are beneficial to beard growth are vitamins B1, B6 and B12, as well as beta-carotene, linseed oil and nettle oil.

Regular, moderate to intensive exercise can lead to denser, healthier beard growth as it increases testosterone production and boosts circulation. Good circulation is important as it carries the vitamins and nutrients needed to the skin and hair through the blood. Try to combine both cardiovascular and muscle-building exercises to get the best results.

4.Treat yourself to a lot of sleep and relaxing.

Sleep is important because it allows the cells to regenerate - which is again important for the growth rate of your hair. Your general well-being and health depend on whether you get enough sleep, so you should find about 7-8 hours of good, deep sleep every night. You should also try to reduce your stress level as much as possible, as stress is associated with hair loss.

5.Drink enough.

Your beard is of course not a plant - it won't grow just because you drink a lot of water. But if you drink enough, it is only beneficial to your body and good for your health. Water flushes toxins out of our body and the skin remains hydrated from within. And none of this harms a healthy beard.

Method 3 Basics of beard growth

1.Look for a bearded role model.

It takes time and dedication to grow a beard. There will be days when you feel like you have to give up and go back to shaving. For those times it will be helpful to keep a bearded role model in mind. Think of a man with a magnificently dense, full beard that is radiant enough to inspire and motivate you when you need it most. Grab a picture of this man and hang it up next to your bathroom mirror. It will give you the strength you need to persevere and achieve the manly beard you've always wanted.

  • Some good examples of such great, full bearded men are: Musicians like John Lennon and Jim Morrison, philosophers like Karl Marx and Sigmund Freud, athletes like James Harden, American presidents like Abraham Lincoln.

2.Ignore the myth that shaving your beard makes it grow thicker.

You've probably also been tipped off that if you shave your beard, it will grow back twice as thick, right? There is nothing to this thesis. If you shave it, it will get a temporary growth spurt, but very quickly return to a slower growth rate. So don't shave it off.

  • Your beard may seem denser when it's growing, but that's only because the hair near the root is darker and rougher than at the tips. Once the beard has grown a bit, you won't feel any difference.

  • So the best choice is to just leave your beard alone. Lock your razor away and let nature take its course.

3.Let it grow for 4-6 weeks.

Normally it takes 4-6 weeks to grow a proper beard. It will be hardest in the beginning when your facial hair might grow a bit uneven or spotty and you have to live with some stupid looks and comments from friends who can't follow your bearded glory quest.

  • For this reason it is best to start your beard growth on vacation. So you can basically skip the first weeks and avoid the critical eyes of others or you can just do it and give a ****** what others think.

4.Learn to deal with the irritation.

The hurdle at which most aspirants fail on a beard is dealing with the arising itching. Itchy, irritated skin can be a big problem when your beard is growing, but don't let it discourage you - fight back! Wash your face 2-3 times a week with a Beard Shampoo to keep your skin clean. Use Beardoil against dry, flaky skin and to reduce redness.

  • Remember that the irritation is only temporary - it will disappear as soon as your beard reaches a certain length - so be strong!

5.Wash your beard with a Beard Shampoo.

Washing your beard a few times a week with Beard Shampoo will also help to counteract itching and free you from dry, flaky skin.

6.Know that the growth rate and density of your beard is largely genetic.

Unfortunately there is no magic serum that allows you to get a wonderfully dense, full beard. The kind of beard you grow is largely determined by your genes (Thanks, Dad!) and your natural testosterone levels. So you have to make do with the facial hair you are given and do everything you can to keep it as healthy as possible.
